I have been an entrepreneur for the last 29 years and have seen my fair share of ups and downs over the years. I nearly went bankrupt at the beginning of my career because I didn't had the cash flow to sustain the growth of my business.
Those have been some of the darkest days of my life and some challenges felt impossible to overcome. But somehow I've managed to pull myself together and come out the other side.
I recently have been asked what has been the key. The answer is actually quite simple ....
A long time ago, I learnt that business is much like a roller coaster. There will be ups and there will be downs.
So, you first have to accept that challenges are part of the process.
The second step is to recognise that no challenge is permanent and obstacles are the way, they are NOT in the way. Too often, we look at a challenge as if it's there to halt our success. Whereas in fact it's there to catapult your rise to success.
Remember, nothing happens to you, it happens for you. Everything you face is there to help you grow and build character, so you can handle bigger challenges in the road ahead.
So, the next time you face a challenge, shift your perspective and go into the situation with a growth mindset.
If you do this, I guarantee you, it will be a much more positive and rewarding experience.
